Take the Journey into the Heart of Money.

If you’re invested in security and certainty, you are on the wrong planet.

— Pema Chodron

Women and men are wired differently.

The classic “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus” by John Gray highlighted many of those differences. Mars and Venus each have their place around the sun, but they exist in different orbits, and each has rules and perspectives that seem foreign to the other.

Live on this planet long enough, and you will experience the contrast in the ways that men and women use money. Men are more outward-facing and goal-oriented, judging their success…

A Story of Humanity’s Move From Separation to Oneness

“Once upon a time, in a land far away, humans believed in competition, comparison, and criticism. Although many experienced plentiful lives, their hearts were starving for something they couldn’t describe.”

“Grandpa, wait a minute!” My twelve-year-old voice couldn’t quite project the urgency I felt.

“Of course, Leah. What is it?” His low, gravelly voice softened as he looked me deeply in the eyes. I was sitting upright on my bed, pillows piled behind me like a soft hug, and he was next to me, in a chair angled so he could…

The way you treat money is a reflection of what you believe about yourself.

The way you treat money is a reflection of what you believe about yourself.

I discovered this truth the hard way. When I graduated from college with a psychology degree, there were not many jobs available. Graduate school wasn’t an option and I was a newly married bride who needed to find a job. Money was the brass ring and I was on a carousel of searching for that perfect fit where I could excel.

But employers were not lining up at my door.

Money was breathing down my neck as I became more desperate for the brass ring, which kept moving just out of my grasp. Finally, I was offered a job at…

Money is a demon or a dance partner, but it depends on your willingness to shine the light of awareness on your hidden beliefs.

When I was sixteen, I worked for a women’s clothing store part-time. It was my first job, and I didn’t have a clue about saving or investing. Instead, all I knew was that the next shipment of clothes had too many items that belonged in my closet.

It took only three days after payday to spend my entire paycheck on new clothes.

To say that my parents were appalled would be an understatement. …

Your inner-verse includes your thoughts, beliefs, and the meaning you gave to past experiences — it’s that part of your mind that filters your present moments.

Remember, the function of the mind is to protect you. In every moment, there are trillions of bits of information bombarding you. Your mind can’t handle the volume and instead looks for patterns that match your filters. The information that passes through the filters is proof that your assessment of the situation was correct.

Because you aren’t aware of the other evidence that didn’t make it through the filter, you assume that the evidence…

How to tell when you are caught in a story that isn’t true.

Humans are story-making machines.

When I teach about money, one of the first things we talk about are the thoughts, beliefs, and stories that have been created. My clients are introduced to the concepts below, and new understanding arrives with the awareness of how and why we create stories. But the greatest shift happens when they realize that many of their money stories just aren’t true.

Our stories prevent us from seeing the entire picture.

For example, what was your first thought when you saw this photo? Did you feel a tug on your heart because the girl seems sad…

How to Own Your Dark Stories and Create a New Ending

When we deny our stories, they define us. When we own our stories, we get to write a brave new ending. — Brene Brown

Money is a perfect mirror. It reflects your beliefs about it and amplifies the energy, creating more of the same.

When you look into the money mirror, you don’t see anything neutral. Instead, you only see your stories that are either light or dark. Money stories filled with light are empowering, uplifting, and abundant. Shadow stories are based on fear, doubt, comparison, and judgment.

Money perfectly reflects what you believe about it and yourself.

You are the Cause, Money is the Effect

Have you…

Connect with Life and Live As Your Self

Your mind and ego create stories about what life means to you.

When you experience something for the first time, you are compelled to decide what it means to you. Once you decide, you use that meaning (or story) to filter reality. As you move through life, the layer of stories begin to interact with each other, morphing into your personality and your beliefs about the world.

Story creation is silent, instantaneous, and creative.

The problem is when you believe your stories and you forget who you really are.

You are the creator, not the creation. You are the observer…

Life is the deep current moving through everything that is born, lives and dies. It is the energy of the Universe, circling through it all, weaving a silken thread of connection between the living and the unseen.

Life is what unites us during our experiences inside time and space.

It is the power of the waves beneath you. It is the current of energy that connects all living things. It is inside of you, waiting for you to become still.

You knew the song when you were young and unformed. When your being was open to the unseen magic and…

“Money doesn’t change you;

it reveals who you are when you no longer have to be nice.” — Tim Ferriss

Have you ever made the mistake of putting off happiness until XYZ happened?

I used to do that all the time, waiting on the next vacation, new car, or house. It’s an easy trap to fall into, especially in our consumer culture that promises the rainbow if we’ll buy that product.

It’s all a magic trick that keeps you mired in financial misery.

When you believe the magic trick — that something outside of you will give you happiness —…
